Keolis public transport sites
The client in the room.
Two years delivering sites for Keolis, an international public transport operator — working directly with the client's stakeholders on what was actually needed, then building it from scratch.
The context
Agreeing before building
Consultancy work puts you in front of the client, not behind a ticket queue. The first job on every site was agreeing what was actually needed — which is a different skill from building it, and the one that decides whether the build was worth doing.
The build
From scratch, more than once
Multiple sites built from zero, with the content living where the client's editors could own it.
The takeaway
Client work is a skill
Stakeholders don't speak in tickets. Learning to hear what a non-engineer needs, push back on what won't work, and deliver the rest is most of what consultancy taught me — and it travels well.
