Fulcrum

Point a camera at dinner.

Fulcrum is a training log for people who build their own routines, with calorie tracking attached. No preset programs and no coaching. The one place a model earns its keep is the part nobody wants to do by hand: typing in what you just ate.

The problem

Calorie tracking is data entry

Every calorie app is a search box. You eat something, then you spend two minutes describing it to a database that does not have it. Most people stop within a week, and the training log they came for dies with it.

The training side had the opposite problem: plenty of apps, all of them convinced they should pick your programme for you.

The approach

A model for the boring part only

Fulcrum builds the routine side the plain way: your own exercises, your own weekdays, rest timers, personal records the moment you beat them, and the whole session runnable from the watch.

The model is pointed at the one job it is genuinely better at. You photograph the plate, the image goes to Claude, and it comes back as structured items with grams and calories that you confirm or correct. No chat, no coach, no feed.

The server

The key never ships in the app

An API key inside a binary is a key you have given away, so the app never holds one. Scans go through a small Cloudflare Worker that keeps the key as a server secret, caps the image size, and rate limits per IP so a leaked app token cannot become somebody else’s bill.

It is about a hundred lines of TypeScript and it sits in the free tier.
