Amazon Vega OS launch
From the SDK to the store.
Vega OS is Amazon's move away from Android — new enough that there was nothing to search when something didn't work. I evaluated the SDK, established what the platform would and wouldn't support, adapted Filmin's app and took it through to store submission.
The problem
Nothing to search for
Every mature platform comes with years of other people's mistakes to learn from. Vega came with an SDK and not much else — no answered questions, no institutional knowledge, nobody at the company who had shipped on it. The usual way of unblocking yourself didn't exist.
The approach
Read first, build second
Before adapting anything, I read the SDK and built a picture of what the platform would support and what our app assumed that Vega didn't provide. That map decided the work: what could stay, what needed adapting, what had to be raised with Amazon directly.
